A Toolbox talk is a brief face-to-face training session or presentation on one aspect of health and safety and concentrates on the hazards, risks and controls in place for that one specific aspect. It should take place in the environment where the staff are working, and it should be ten to 15 minutes long to cause minimal disruption to the staff’s working routine.
It is recommended that toolbox talks and refresher training should be given on an annual basis.
I have a comprehensive library of toolbox talks on various subjects and can also work with you to create your own talks according to your business needs. I can also provide you with a toolbox talk index which will provide an automatic count-down to the date when the talk is next to be carried out and is a useful way of providing assurance that the internal training part of your safety management system is being met.
